Drum Doula & Music
One of my deepest passions is drumming, and I began hand drumming at age 15, inspired by years of tap dancing as a child. I had the privilege to study with a variety of master teachers, and attended classes, drum circles, and intensive workshops such as the women’s drumming camp, “Born to Drum.”
I play frame drum, djembe, dum bek, cajon, conga, and a variety of other percussion. I also love to sing and have developing my vocal confidence and song leadership skills over the years.
My Musical Offerings Include:
Drum Doula Coaching
I offer 1-1 and group coaching that I lovingly call serving as a “drum doula.” I work with clients who feel called to build their relationship with drumming- primarily hand drums. We aim to work together for 6 months, which is a length of time allowing for deep unfolding of the coaching process and sufficient time to meet many of your goals around drumming.
What we can explore can include but is not limited to:
-
Being a woman or non-binary person drumming and liberating one's personal expression and empowerment
-
Research into different drum lineages and figuring out which one to start with
-
Becoming observant of rhythm
-
Applying nature awareness skills
-
Getting into a "rhythm" of playing and practicing - both alone and with others
-
Confidence in drumming, making noise, and how this translates to other parts of your life
"I highly recommend Eva Orbuch as your leadership/community organizing coach or drum doula. I have been going deep with Eva as my drum doula for over six months and I can attest that she is a wise, compassionate, and accountable coach. I leave each session feeling understood, strengthened, and clear about my next empowered steps as an artist, community leader, and priestess."

"Eva is a great collaborator and team player, with strong percussion and vocal skills. She always came prepared and ready for fun and engagement when we played music and facilitated the Work that Reconnects together. Eva brings creative ideas yet is also flexible to the ideas of others, making her a great person to work with. Eva also has great people skills, engaging groups of people with kindness and curiosity. Together we were able to create welcoming and warm spaces."
